Create your own wall decals
Making your own wall decals will not only give it the most personal touch, but also make it unique and the only piece of art you have on your wall.

Here is a small tutorial for you to start creating you own wall decals:

There are many ways and methods you can use to make wall decals. You will need pencils, plain white papers, photo editing software and skills to use them, contact paper or printable vinyl paper, newspaper or packing paper, marker, and laser or inkjet printer.

Once you have all your materials in place, such as, plain, contact, and brown packing paper, scissors, and marker, you can start with sketching your design.

Contact paper: This is the quickest way to create a wall decal; however, it can be expensive depending on the size of decal you want and the type of paper you buy. If your idea of a decal is having it to cover most part of your wall(s), then you will have to buy larger quantity of contact paper resulting in paying more.

Once you have the paper of your choice, you can either draw your design on it using a felt-tip market or pencil, in case you end up making a mistake that you will need to erase, or a stencil for the design. Stencil lowers your chances of making a mistake.

After drawing or tracing your design on the reverse side of the paper, you just need cut the paper in that design and peel off the cover and stick it on the wall where you want it.

Computer: You can also choose to sketch out your design on a computer software by scanning a photo of your room and designing the room digitally first. After you are done with the digital design, calculate the amount of contact paper you will need and first draw the same design on a brown paper and later trace it on the contact paper. And follow the same procedure.

Note: use sharp scissors to cut out the design on the contact paper. Using computer software will help you get the right estimate of the amount of contact paper you will need and the type of design that will look best on you wall.
